Election Reflections – Three perspectives – pls read and Contribute to the debate

With the Australian election result ‘on a knife-edge’ there is a need to reflect on what has happened and analyse what went wrong.

In Left Focus today we host three perspectives – one from a Left ALP activist (myself ie: Tristan Ewins), another from AMWU organiser, Don Sutherland, and the last from radical social commentator Tim Anderson – who offers a non-ALP but Left perspective.

Your views welcome in the Comments section of ‘Left Focus’ :) )

(so long as they are Left-sympathetic)

One Response to “Election Reflections”

  1. i keep hearing about right-wing ALP.

how can there be a right-wing left-wing? (bunch of birds?)

why hasn’t anyone loudly pointed out that the fatality rate under the insulation rollout actually went down.

how come the conservative candidates got away with presenting an economic blank sheet for serious consideration?

why does the scrutiny of the blank sheet hang on the open distrust of a department that is needed for the proper governance of the country?

    “drowning in debt”?
just about every country in the world would love to swap places.

    “great big tax”?
    a) i am not three years old.

b)great big profits deserve great big rents to fund great big infrastructure projects.(see Canada is having the same discussion on the subject of in ground assets like potash as Australia is.(funny that the Big used-to-be Australian is among the bidders.)

    “Sovereign risk”?
what?like that paragon of social stability Tha Congo?

no one managed to see that when the rent tax was announced the so-called negative market response included Vale from Brazil who one would expect to benefit.they didn’t benefit at all.

    and on and on.
