Just watch…
Has this been properly reported by the mainstream media? Of course not. It is now clear that media bias in this country is out of control. Our once independent ABC has now become a right-wing stable for News Limited hacks. The board is still stacked with conservatives from the Howard era. Most are up for reappointment next year. If Abbott is in control the same bias will remain or get even worse. We MUST join together to form a powerful progressive voice in this nation. We cannot rely on mainstream media to keep us informed.
Let’s join together as Progress Australians Against Tony Abbott! Please join the group and invite everyone on your contact list. If we can grow the group to 50,000 people or more we will have a solid basis from which we can keep people informed and organise as a progressive movement. Together we can do it!

This happens every election campaign and the two major parties get away with it every time. Remembering of course it was the two major parties that voted down the Greens motion to make lying in election advertising illegal. The two major parties demand the legal right to blatantly lie to us – the voters. I can’t tell you how sick to the stomach this sort of stuff makes me feel.
That is why they should be called Lieberals.
Effing outrageous. All power to the dudes videoing the scoundrels.
Have you sent this over to Crikey, JJ ?
Actually, it seems that this has been picked up by the mainstream media. Sky News played part of the clip. I doubt, however, that it will get very wide airing. The media seems focused on undermining the ALP’s stability at present.
Don’t worry – it’s all over the internet. I was watching it from a Members Only thread on Aussiefrogs (the Australian French Car Forum) about half an hour ago.
the Premier David Bartlett ( tas) last night with Sales on there abc, was giving a very good talk about minority gov and how well its working he explained in the short time tas had been able to create more work and also working well with the greens,
He had a lot more to say then sales changed the subject wtte what did he think of the labor campaign.
The abc can never stay on track with positive message\
what is the opinion here of the abc 24 will it loose money, after the election. they could not seem to cross live to some of the pm press conferences and many other things, so not impressive when we did watch which i must say was not a lot as we expected abc journalists to ask informative questions.
My daughter made the comment to me she thinks more people that is children, would watch the children’s channel than the 24.
i think she make a good point.
so what are the abc spending their money the drama has been very poor of late and boring docos that take you on travels all over the world.
Where are show like spooks Silent Witness Jonathan Greens productions. etc. we get repeats of mid sumner murders, miss marple
perhaps they think most of their views have alzheimer’s
The abc should go back to its rootes of news and good drams and the commentary on the internet that was all set up in an election year when the dust settled who will bother. wll there be journalists sitting around waiting for something to do Just wondering the size of the commentary seems to have grown a lot lately.
Living in Tasmania I find Bartlett’s praise of the Labor-Green coalition sickeningly hypocritical after all the bile he poured on them before the election, and given that he basically said hell would freeze over before he’d work with the Greens. I can only assume that someone actually got him to see common sense and have him to stop cutting his nose off to spite his face. In the end I wouldn’t be surprised if this latest Tasmanian Labor-Greens coalition goes down as one of the most successful Tasmanian governments in a long time, unlike the first attempt in the early 90s.
On the subject of ABC News 24 I agree Molly, it’s been a bit disappointing in that it’s not quite what I expected. What I thought we would get is a much broader range of news similar to what SBS News presents every night in their hour long bulletin, with global news stories not normally shown on the other channels. But instead ABC News 24 focuses on a small amount of local issues and rehashes them over and over again. To fill in the rest of the time they are repeating various shows from ABC 1. On a more positive note though, I live in an isolated rural area and can only access TV through a satellite dish. I am able to watch the 24 hour channel online (satellite so-called broadband) and that’s been great.
Gee, why didn’t I think of it first
