LAUNCH: OPEN BLOG

Posted on 17 June 2010 at 7:35 pm by JJ Fiasson

In order to foster a more inclusive blog environment, I’ve decided to add an open blog to the front of this site. Basically, as long as you have a registered account on here you can submit a blog post on any topic of your choosing and it will automatically propagate to the front page in the “Open Blog” section. You can post about anything that takes your fancy at the time, short or long – it doesn’t matter.

The posts will automatically be held for moderation if the system detects spam or obscenities, at which point it will be reviewed by myself or someone else with Moderator privileges. Please avoid defamatory statements, racial vilification, hawking your wares and so on. Things like that will be grounds for a ban from the open blog system.

In order to make a post, you must have a registered account on the Bludge. If you haven’t registered already, please do so by clicking here. Posts which are well-written, provocative or garner a large amount of interest will become featured headline articles.

I will be adding the option to upload images shortly, but in the meantime you can upload images to something like http://imageshack.us and include them in your post by using html img tags.

If you have any questions about this new feature, please ask them in the comments below.

As you can see in the above image on the right, it is possible to edit your post later on.

  • Did you know that in addition to being able to comment on individual articles below, we also host a busy discussion forum where you can post your own topics?
  • We are actively seeking site contributors, contact admin@dailybludge.com.au. All political perspectives welcome.

  1. read a great article today not to take any notice of news poll

so thats what i am doing O its just news poll who cares what they say.

hope this site goes well for you, can i say to all of the young people that are using this site please put worthy thoughts on your face book areas

for people to read and make them realise what a great gov we have.
I dont think Australian young adults know that there are 25 million people out of work europe because there gov did not do a good as job as ours did for the gfc i actually think to many people have forgotten about it already i think MR Rudd did to good a job.

  2. Hi. Is it possible to make all links in posts open in a new window or tab rather than replacing the screen with the article/discussion on it?

    ta,
    M.

  3. Sure is!

To add a link, you select the text that you want to make a link for then click the little link icon. It will pop up a box where you can paste the link in. There’s a drop-down box for “target”, where you can select “Open in a new window” or “Open in the same window”.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I’ll probably put together a help article for the post submitter.

hoping that the media has expended all its energy rudd bashing this week, and they have tired themselves out. The all out assault has been hysterical!

  5. litte respected was showed for our prime minister on the 7.30 report.Thursday he was not ask about policy just a ball he attended , do we care, no its policy the parent paid leave for when having had a baby was not mentioned this wonderful initiative has been 30 years coming and all it go when mr rudd mentioned was ‘OKay” if we had a good msm it would of been front page news i managed to find it on page 22 and it was covered by aap.
it was a good interview because Mr Rudd talked over him, i hope he does more of that,
I was very impressed with the sunrise show which i hardly watch but even though the questions are ask in a more relaxed style they did not interrupt and also showed respect. i have now decided to watch more often, i think we should encourage this as the abc do not seem to want to discuss policy just play the man. why not write to sunrise i did and ask them to expand the session, with any one they want to have on i know it has to be balanced but for example its about time Mr swan was allowed to tell Australia there are 25 million people unemployed in europe the msm and abc that i know of dont seem to want to talk about that.
This gov saved us from the same thing with stimulus very little of that was done over seas.

WE also have to remeber that abbott would bring back WORK CHOICES

check out the abc 7.30 report site i was amazed at the critisim so many must think the same

  6. The Minister for Health and Ageing, Nicola Roxon and Member for Hasluck, Sharryn Jackson today unveiled plans for the $10 million Midland GP Super Clinic.

The Minister for Health and Ageing and Member for Hasluck revealed the plans on the site of the Midland GP Super Clinic, the historic Midland Workshops building at the corner of Yelverton Place and Centennial Place, Midland. After extensive consultation with the Heritage Council, plans have now been approved by the Minister of Planning and endorsed by the Midland Redevelopment Authority, with the tender for construction to be advertised shortly.

The clinic will accommodate GPs, practice nurses, nurse practitioners, and a range of allied health professionals. This will include Aboriginal health workers, psychologists, physiotherapists, dentists and a dispensing pharmacy. Plans include the co-location of a satellite clinic of Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service and other specialist services. There will also be a day surgery and extensive education and training facilities for medical, nursing and allied health students.

The clinic, which will be open from 8am to 10pm, 7 days per week, with bulk billing for GP services, will also provide emergency care for patients to take pressure off the proposed Midland Hospital

  7. no, it’s good news for parents. There’s about 148,000 parents across Australia we think will benefit from this scheme. It’s been a long time in the planning. People have been waiting for it for a long, long time, and we got it through the Senate last night. So it just helps with some of those real cost of living pressures which parents have when a newborn comes. But critically, it gives, gives parents more of a time to spend time with the newborn in those critical few months after the baby arrives home.

the above is a piece taken from the pm site re the interview with mel and kochie i think we should make sure we watch every friday

this is about THE PARENTS PARENTAL LEAVE

  8. Im with you Denise – Id seriously like to throw lillies on Murdoch’s grave ..how much longer will the autocrat live. Surely Rudd cabn do something about the miners first and the media second (yes higher taxes or get lost – we can blog – we dont need Murdoch except for real estate or cooking and the rest is ultra right wing garbage media anyway).

The papers dont fool me. Rudd is doing a better job than bringing back one of the workchoices designers. A much better job. Id like to see him rip a higher tax on Murdoch media frankly.

  9. When is the Anti-Discrimination Act going to be reinstated for Aboriginals in The Northern Territory.Australia where Apartheid is still healthy.

Thanku MR Sorry Rudd for continuing the raceist Policy of the previous Howard Government.

    What a joke!

  10. i hope for the Day that all the Lawyers ,Doctors, diplomats and their hanger-oners bugger off out of Politics none of them have a decent Idea between them .

All Parliamentary Salaries should be reduced to the average weekly wage.

As for Super, they should all have it halved ,and not Guarenteed like the rest of Us.

  11. That piece of Dingo dropping Kevin Religious nutter Rudd ,deserves no respect ,nor do any of them really .

Hello we are talking about representatives of WAR,POVERTY,Austerity.

if you believe they offer anything but continuing Harship and deepening Crisis

Then you need your head read ,or are you one of the very few that are members of the decrepit, political Parties of Australian Capitialism.

  12. Philx – you may not like Rudd but Abbott is a lunatic and so is his party (you want the cockroach in? – females with natural hair need not apply to join the liberals – hair must be able to withstand a force 9 gale – tested in a wind tunnel first at Mitsubishi – and women must have no opinions at all before they can go for preselection with the liberals – bake a good sponge? – pass the plate at Hisllsong or hubby belomgs to Opus Dei? – you are welcome.

So if you sit comfortably in Vaucluse or Pittwater or leafy Killaran (and dont go to work on the train) and cant cope with changing your vote…

Vote liberal – you deserve it. A box in the cemetary would suit the job just as well.

Favour right but dont want an extreme and cant quite swallow voting Rudd? Get a migraine and stay home and dont vote.

Want change? Doh – do something different and make a difference. Just dont tell all your liberal friends you have had a gutful and voted green for once in your liberal life! LOL.
